This is an article in response to Ann McFeatters article on Halloween. It talks about how, unless real proof is given, we should not waste time and money on man-made global warming.

I take great issue with the Ann McFeatters column Oct. 31 on global warming.

In the column, she makes reference to a number of future terrible consequences of man-made global warming, such as higher Earth temperatures, increased incidences of floods, droughts, hurricanes and deaths.

Numerous scientific studies have been published within the last several years which cast serious doubt on man-made global warming and especially the consequences written about. In fact, the issues mentioned are subject to great suspicion and debate among scientists.

McFeatters then spends significant column space questioning the motives of scientists (like myself) who do not agree with the proposed global warming. It is not helpful to do this.

Arvid Pasto is a Ph.D. in Ceramics, making him more than qualified to voice an opinion on a question of global warming. (More on Pasto's qualifications).
